Security Arrangements to be Tight Today as Delhiites Gear up to Celebrate on New Year Eve

securityNew Delhi, Wednesday, December 31 – The joy of celebrating New Year with family and friends is unmatched. When calendar will change after a few hours, people residing in different states would be in full-on mood to celebrate it. Security arrangement has been tight in various cities, including the national capital. Preparations are in full swing to in Delhi as the cops all set to keep an eagle eye on the entire activities happening around on the final day of 2014.

Challenges are never less for the police particularly in Delhi in view of the fact that a number of people, especially the youths, get heavily drunk and try to create chaos on the roads, creating trouble for other passengers. Alcohol consumption while driving increases the probability of accidents, ruining the joyous mood of festivity. As per latest reports available, security check will be strict on Wednesday and Thursday given that  people of different age group prefer to step outside and enjoy New Year in restaurants, shopping malls and other public places.

Traffic is anticipated to crawl in most of the Delhi streets during peak hours. ‘Drivers driving the vehicle post consuming alcohol wouldn’t be spared’, said a traffic police. An advisory over parking at popular locations of the metropolitan city has also been issued to steer clear of any sort of complications. Parking of cars at Connaught Place may not be allowed in the late hours. Traffic restrictions are likely to be seen at posh zones. Commuters who board metro trains are advised to check the metro schedules for next two days since exit on some major stations may not be allowed. The police have appealed the dwellers to follow traffic rules to avoid any mishap, which can alone play spoilsport.
