winterNew Delhi, Monday, January 5 – Cold waves are making life worse of the general public these days in the national capital. Despite plenty of sunshine in the early hours and late afternoon, temperature of the city compelled people to properly cover from head to toe.

Sunny day during the weekend brought a little bit respite from the cold during the day, however, severity of frostiness in the late night hours added to the shiver. Icy waves made the residents of Delhi and nearby regions experienced severe wintry feel on Saturday and Sunday. The iciness augmented across the capital.

A lot of people in different regions woke up to clear mornings with no signs of fog anymore. But continuous blowing of the gust throughout the entire day was the key reason of the masses’ trouble. Homeless and unprivileged people were among those who were hit hard by it. The intensity of cold is not anticipated to go less any further as proclamation of shallow fog is done by the weathermen.

Visibility might not get low in the metropolitan as it had been a few days ago but it may keep on creating problems for the commuters during the sunup. Morning walk should be avoided as fog cover worsens health issues and affect those who have breathing problems. Flight operations at Delhi airport and trains’ arrival and departure on platforms are expected to come on track soon.

Stray animals are facing huge difficulty to find warm places to reside. Bonfires are the keen need of the living creatures at the present. Partly cloudy days are forecasted for this week. Massive fog is unlikely to envelope Delhi and NCR but life-threatening cold waves will continue to blow at the pace of 11 to 31 km per hour. Minimum and maximum temperatures are supposed to vary in the range of 7 & 10 degree Celsius and 16 & 19 degree Celsius up till Sunday. Several schools have declared winter vacations, giving tiny tots breathe a sigh of relief. “Fog cover seemed to have lifted to a certain extent but scenario may change all of a sudden if hilly areas witness snowfall”, said an expert. As of today, speedy winds are probable to restrict people stay indoors as long as possible.
